Hi Polis, I'm so sorry you've had such a difficult year. There seems no logic sometimes as to who 'makes it' and who doesn't. It certainly doesn't always seem related to talent or merit. People who say you've just got to keep going, or do it for yourself because it's something you love doing, have no idea, I mean, what is the point in shouting into a void? Unfortunately, social media has facilitated so much free art, that people now expect it for nothing, and stuff that is free is never valued. AI is only going to feed that demand. I hope you find a form/ platform this year that fulfills you, with less self-promotion required, and a decent level of remuneration that satisfies you. I hope 2025 is the year for your star to rise. 💕
As one of those dozen, I was very happy to see you perform your new show. I understand not wanting to rest on past laurels, but I wouldn't want to see you give up entirely. Happy to chat about maybe alternative ways or formats your one man shows could take, if that's of interest? Chin up ❤️ and happy new year.
Being a creative in the current climate ios a tough gig. I know how dispiriting it is. Fwiw, I think you're an excellent writer and performer, and I hope 2025 brings you more tangible success.
I really feel this. I was chatting to a friend recently about our careers, and expressing the frustration of never knowing in this industry what will make it and what won't, that feeling of spinning your wheels because what does career progression even look like as a creative? The best we got this year was "Keep going and don't die." Which feels exhausting right now, but for me that means I've got to put more points into the 'keep going' part, so I've got the energy to get through to the little sunshine spots of success along the way.

Thanks so much, Ali, that's very kind and means a lot! You've hit several nails on the head there, too... All the best to you as well for 2025!
Thank you! 🥰

Thank you so much, Kat, that's lovely to read. Well, a certain bisexual show is at least getting a bit of a brighter future soon...

And many hugs for mental health stuff.
That's very much appreciated, Cat, and the admiration is mutual. Hope to cross paths again soon. May pop up in Edinburgh in the Spring...

Ugh, that is SO accurate. All the best to you, too. I love your storytelling and hope to see more this year.
